How is the home equipped?

Our home if fully equipped to to make your stay enjoyable.  The kitchen has service for 8 as well as all the kitchen appliances to support your cooking creations.

Is a BBQ available?

A gas BBQ is available on the patio.

Is a washer/dryer available?

A large laundry room with washer and dryer is available for your exclusive use.  Laundry detergent and other support liquids are supplied to start off your stay.

Do you supply all linens?

Yes, all bed linens and bath towels are supplied.

Do you supply beach toys, beach chairs and boogie boards?

We have boogie boards, sand toys, umbrellas, beach chairs and ice chest in the laundry storage room for your use.

Does the home have air conditioning or heat?

The home is equipped with a wall heating system, but no air conditioning.  We are at the beach and a sea breeze keeps the area cool.  In addition, there are ceiling fans in the kitchen, living room, and the two bedrooms.  A portable fan is also in the home.  It is extremely rare for any home at the beach to have air conditioning.

What do you suggest bringing to wear?

We have found the Carlsbad beach area is pleasant during the day and cools down at sunset with a sea breeze.  Consider bringing layers such as a light jacket or sweater for evenings.  If you are coming between November and May, it might be a good idea to pack a couple warmer sweaters and a waterproof jacket as well...just in case.

No pets are allowed on short term rentals.  For long term rentals – call.

If I book, when is my reservation confirmed?

Your reservation is not confirmed until you have signed and returned our Vacation Rental Agreement and we have received your Reservation/Security Deposit.

What sort of payment methods do you accept?

We accept personal check or credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover via PayPal.

Do I need to have a PayPal account to use my credit card?

You do not need  to have an account with PayPal to use the service. We send you an Email invoice via PayPal and you enter your card information.  Transaction is secured via PayPal.

Do you collect a security deposit?

Your Reservation Deposit converts to a Security Deposit at time of check-in.  This deposit is refundable after check-out.

What other fees are there besides the rent?

There is a cleaning fee and City of Carlsbad taxes.

What is your deposit policy?

If you book with us outside of 60 days from your arrival date, we collect $300 Reservation Deposit.  If your booking is within 60 days of your arrival date, we collect the Reservation Deposit and one half of the rent.  The rent balance is due at time of check-in, along with the cleaning fee.

What is your cancellation policy?

Rent Money is Non-Refundable. We will work with you to try to reschedule your dates.  However, if that does not work we will make every effort to re-rent the time spot you had and if it can be rented, you may have money refunded less $300 per week for re-rental charge. All cancellations must be submitted in writing. We then will try and re-rent the property for your dates and return to you whatever we can rent it for, less a $300 re-rent fee. We highly suggest that you purchase travel insurance, in which case the travel insurance company will refund you the full amount you originally paid.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes, we have a seven (7) night minimum

What are the check-in and check-out times and days?

Check-in is at 4:00 pm, and check-out is no later than 11:00 am. During the summer, check-in and check-outs are on Saturdays.

Am I allowed to have alcohol, glass containers, or fires on the beach?

Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited on the public beaches. Fires are allowed in designated fire rings. Unfortunately most of the fire rings have been removed from the beaches.
